Science Daily Tidbit

Wilhelm Röntgen (1845-1923) was born on this day in 1845. Röntgen was a German physicist who was the first person to systematically produce and detect e electromagnetic radiation in a wavelength now called “X-rays.” This high-energy radiation was first called Röngen rays. His discovery initiated revolutionary improvements in the field of physics and in making medical diagnoses, and it earned him the first Nobel prize in Physics, in 1901.
